Pieta House will this year host their annual Darkness into Light this May 12th. Pieta House is a Centre for the Prevention of Self-Harm and Suicide based in Lucan, Co. Dublin but also located throughout Dublin and in Limerick. The Darkness into Light 5km walk, jog or run is being run in 14 locations across the country. The Dublin Simon Fun Run needs little introduction as it is synonomous with charity fun run’s and is widely recognised as a day of guaranteed fun and festivities. This year’s 5km fun run will take place on 8 October and will follow a sligthly altered route due to the planned road works in the Phoenix Park. This September 4th will see hundreds take to the streets of Dublin in a celebration of all things pink.  Breast Cancer Ireland in association with the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland are hosting a 5k fun run with participants encouraged to wear pink.  This is a family occassion and there will be numerous activities on hand to keep all ages entertained.
