Possibly the most famous of Ireland’s current batch of Olympians, and without a doubt the country’s best hope for medal success this summer, world boxing champion Katie Taylor took time out from her intensive schedule to lend her suppor to the Terenure 5 mile run taking place on Sunday May 15th.
The race, which intends to raise over €10,000 for Special Olympics is being organised by Trevor Lloyd and Sportsworld Running Club, and is being billed as the perfect warm up for the mini marathon just 3 weeks later. Katie Taylor has not been sparing in her support for the run, or the cause, taking time out to meet Special Olympians from the Special Olympic South Dublin Sports Club.
The event itself takes place on May 5th, with the 1st 1000 entrants guaranteed a high quality technical tee shirt. Terenure itself is buzzing in anticipation of this event, and Challenge Monkey would like to add our stamp of approval to the event. You can get more information right now on www.terenure5mile.com
